Swallow Tail Lighthouse
Swallow Tail Lighthouse is one of the most picturesque lighthouses in Canada. In 2020 Swallow Tail Lighthouse was featured on a Canadian Postage Stamp. Built in 1860, it is one of a few pre-Confederation wooden light towers still standing. A webcam offers a real-time peek of the peninsula. The recent restoration of the lighthouse, which is now a fine museum, means that you can tour inside (for a small admission fee) and learn about the history of this lighthouse and its keepers. A climb to the top allows you to experience the exquisite panoramic view of the Swallow Tail peninsula and its surrounding coves and islands. At the welcome centre there is a gift shop, proceeds of which help support the maintenance of the lighthouse. http://swallowtailkeepers.com
